Coach Wire was named varsity head coach in 2012. Upon his selection, he became only the 4th head coach in the past 45 years and the 10th varsity head coach in the history of the program. He is a 1996 graduate of Cary-Grove High School, lettering in three sports. He went on to play baseball and football at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater, Concordia University and Beloit College.
He teaches in the Social Studies department at BHS.
Coach Rife is a 1974 BHS graduate, winning All-Conference honors in both football and baseball. He played baseball at Murray State University (KY), and went on to graduate from Southern Illinois University.
He started teaching at BHS in 1989 in the Social Studies department until his retirement in 2015. He continues to coach both baseball and boys’ golf at BHS. In 2013, he was named Assistant Coach of the Year by the Illinois High School Baseball Coaches Association (IHBSCA). In 2022, he was named National High School Baseball Coaches Association Assistant Coach of the Year for the Upper Midwest Region.
